Carmen and Manolo are one of the pioneers of quality wine production in Terra Alta. Hidden behind the vaunted Priorat and Montsant, where they learned winemaking, things did not go smoothly. Today Terra Alta is a prized wine region where winemakers stay close to themselves.
Daughter Pilar initially decided to leave Terra Alta behind and seek happiness in Barcelona and other parts of the world. In 2013, she returned to her native region and joined her parents in the winery. She soon made her own line of wines. While her parents were well trained in winemaking techniques, Pilar's wines are characterized by adventure, minimal intervention, and "out of the box" thinking.
The wines of Celler Barbara Fores are very versatile due to the influence of two very different generations. The winemakers stick to their origins, and add little to the wine to meet international demand.
