Celler Castellet is a traditional and small family winery of two brothers: Jordi and Xavi Castellet. It is located in the village of Porrera, in the slightly higher part of Priorat, where the majority of the vines are of the Carinyena grape variety.
The Celler Castellet vineyards cover just 12 hectares, much of which is on steep slopes. In addition to the well-known and authentic grape varieties of the region: Garnatxa and Carinyena, Celler Castellet also has many Garnatxa Peluda planted. A rare grape variety in Priorat and partly because of this their wines are very special.
The oldest vines are over 100 years old. Of these, the
Empit Seleccio created. The philosophy is to preserve the freshness, the acidity. If successful, even the heavy wines from Priorat are comfortable to drink, even without a hearty dish.
