Why we love this wine
Wine from Priorat has character. Nice and firm and with minerals that are good to smell and taste. They owe this to the slate subsoil – locally called 'llicorella'. In this rock, the roots of the old vines make their way deep into water and nutrition. Bateta is the product of typical Spanish grape varieties. The Carinyena is pronounced; full of colour, acidity and tannins. The Garnatxa is bursting with juiciness. Aging in oak for 6 months results in a wine that is dynamic to the bone. We recommend decanting before consumption.

What makes this winery so special
The faces behind Los Comuns are Jordi Escoda and Agustí Perelló. Lifelong friends who grew up in the town of El Molar, on the border of Priorat and Montsant. In this thirteenth-century village, the local economy relies mainly on vineyards and olive and almond plantations. Not exactly obvious, because the steep and rocky area is relatively difficult to cultivate. Jordi and Agustí did not let this stop them. They now own 3,5 hectares on various plots, part of which they rent out. They make their wines from the Carinyena, Garnatxa and Cabernet Sauvignon. Less classic varieties with remarkable purity and freshness.
Job's Tasting Notes
Soft in the nose, spicy in the mouth. The deep ruby red Bateta seduces you with aromas of ripe blackberries, cranberries, black pepper and thyme. Also slightly smoky thanks to aging in oak barrels. A full-bodied red wine with a surprising sparkle. Very juicy, but also with present tannins.
