Why we love this wine
The face behind the Naturalment Ancestral is the very young winemaker Andrea Miró. All-rounder when it comes to Garnatxa Blanca. Yet this was only the second year that 20-year-old Andrea made this sparkling wine. And that sometimes involved falling, getting up, hanging and strangling. It turned out not to be that easy to make sparkling wine. In year 2 everything came together. The result: 200 bottles of this incredibly tasty Ancestral, according to an ancestral recipe. Bottled while the fermentation is still in full swing, preserving the carbon dioxide and bringing it to its fullest.
What makes this winery so special
Andrea is the eldest daughter of winemaker Jordi Miró from Terra Alta. After starting winemaking at a young age for a school project, she decided to start her own line of wines. Pure and made only from the Garnatxa Blanca, a local grape variety. Her younger sister Aïda (17) soon followed and decided to focus on the Garnatxa Negra. With a lot of love, minimal intervention and an eye for nature, they have now made six wines together. All surprising wines with different textures.
Job's Tasting Notes
This bright golden pearl smells wonderfully fruity. Aromas of ripe peach, red apple, apricot pastry and sourdough fly into your nose without knocking. The Naturalment Ancestral is creamy, has a very fine mousse and a full taste that also hits the spot. The aftertaste will also not leave you alone. You don't often come across such a sparkling wine.
